‘I Love You’ Avocado Toast


Yields 4 toasts


The things you’ll need

Ingredients
  • 4 slices of bread
  • Avocados
  • Lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Arugula
  • Eggs
Equipment
  • Toaster
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Spoon
  • Fork
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Nonstick skillet
  • Butter for skillet
  • Metal spatula
  • Heart-shaped silicone mold

Let’s get started!

  1. Toast a slice of bread and then scoop avocado into a bowl. Squeeze lemon juice into the avocado and then add salt and pepper to taste. Coarsely mash with a fork.
  2. Spread avocado onto toast and then place some arugula on top.
  3. Heat skillet on medium low and grease the pan with a little butter. Grease mold with butter and place in pan. Crack an egg into the cookie cutter and cook with the lid on for 2 to 3 minutes, until the whites set. Carefully remove mold and egg from pan.
  4. Place egg on top of the toast and repeat for as many pieces as you would like.

Heart Cinnamon Rolls


Yields 5 rolls


The things you’ll need

Ingredients
  • Pillsbury Grands cinnamon rolls
  • White glaze icing
  • Heart sprinkles
Equipment
  • 8 inch round cake pan
  • 8 inch round parchments
  • Decorating bag fitted with a #6 tip
  • Baking spray
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Parchment paper

Let’s get started!

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. Remove cinnamon rolls from canister. Unravel each roll and shape strips into hearts. Arrange in a greased and lined cake pan. The tips of the heart should point towards the center.
  3. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes. Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes and then transfer to a cutting board to cut out individual cinnamon rolls.
  4. Scoop glaze icing into piping bag and drizzle on top of cinnamon hearts. While the icing is still wet, place sprinkles on top.
  5. TaDa! Here are some sweet hearts for your sweetheart!

Heart Pancakes


Yields 10 five-inch pancakes


The things you’ll need

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tespoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Equipment
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Nonstick skillet
  • Butter for skillet
  • Metal heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • Pan spray
  • Small tongs
  • ¼ cup measuring cup

Let’s get started!

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Stir in milk, butter, vanilla extract, and egg and whisk until well combined.
  3. Heat skillet on medium low and grease with a little bit of butter. Grease cookie cutter and place in pan.
  4. Pour about ¼ cup of batter into the cookie cutter and allow to cook until bubbles rise to the top, about 1 minute. Gently remove the cookie cutter and flip the pancake with a spatula. Cook until golden brown, about another minute.
  5. Cut out heart shaped bananas, strawberries, and butter and arrange them on top of the pancakes.
  6. TaDa! Breakfast in bed has never been so sweet!
